A huge thank you to all staff at Waterstones Salisbury, especially Jane, Richard and Leoni for making the first event of this year's tour with Poppy Day so memorable. The largest bookstore in Wiltshire was the perfect location to start the campaign and in a flurry of activity Amanda was photographed in action by the Rex photo agency and also the Salisbury Camera Club, whose pictures of the day will be posted shortly. Exhausting stocks in store on the day, a courier delivery had to be bought in to keep up with demand, making Poppy Day as the best selling book across all categories.
Thanks also to the members of the Salisbury Royal British Legion who came out to show their support and entertain us with their stories and wit, it was very much appreciated. We look forward to visiting the Salisbury branch in the near future.

Having previously been interviewed as a guest on Graham Rogers' BBC Radio Wiltshire Sunday Morning show last year, Graham got Amanda back on for an update on the Poppy Day novel and to encourage readers to battle through the elements and say hello. Another brisk signing passed, leaving Amanda ready for the official book launch on Wednesday 7th November in Waterstones Piccadilly and the huge signing event at Waterstones Bluewater Shopping Centre branch. A special thank you to Claire and Steve at Bath who made Amanda's visit so enjoyable.

SIGNING AT WATERSTONES MANCHESTER THE TRAFFORD CENTRE - SATURDAY 4 FEBRUARY 2012
Thank you to Carly and all of the team at Waterstones The Trafford Centre for making us so welcome at the weekend. On a snowy and blustery day we stayed as long as we dared before beating a retreat down South through the blizzards. Coverage on the Lorraine show on itv in the week ensured that Amanda got a fantastic reception with books flying out. Amanda also met a lot of fellow authors who are at various stages of writing and encouraged them to continue on their works and labours of love. Poppy Day is an inspirational story and the manner in which it has made it to print shows that anyone can do it. If you've got a story in you and lets face it most people have, put pen to paper today and get started.
SIGNING AT WATERSTONES WALTHAMSTOW - SATURDAY 28 JANUARY 2012
Another amazing Waterstones event, this time where the story started in Walthamstow. Following the coverage in the Mail Online the previous day and throughout Saturday, Amanda was overwhelmed by the level of support by readers in the Walthamstow area. A large crowd soon gathered and Poppy Day took the record for signings as the Walthamstow Guardian photographer arrived.
A special mention to Roma, who met Amanda almost two years ago and spoke about the Poppy Day novel that was then just in an advanced draft. Interested in the story, Roma wrote down the details and months later by chance saw an advert for Amanda's signing and came along to get a copy. The girls were thrilled to be reaquainted and exchanged email addresses so that Amanda can find out if it was worth waiting for...
Strong sales were boosted further by astute gentlemen acquiring a copy for their partners in preparation for Valentine's while some shoppers took a copy as a unique and special gift for Mother's Day. A big thank you to the AMAZING Fiona and all of the team at Waterstones Walthamstow for a truly memorable event in a wonderful atmosphere.
SIGNING EVENT AT WATERSTONE'S CARDIFF HAYES - SAT 21 JAN 2012
Amanda visited Waterstone's Cardiff Hayes today on Saturday 21 January 2012. Great to meet some of our friends from Twitter in real life and a greatful thanks to the wonderful Lucy and all staff at Waterstones for making the event so memorable. Last and not least, thank you to the people of Cardiff firstly for taking the time to talk to us and secondly to everyone having the patience to wait and get a copy while those in front chatted. If the store was open 24 hours a day, we would still gladly be there now... A fantastic day.

In support of the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club featured members of The Rifles in their Matchday programme alongside the novel Poppy Day as part of this year's Poppy Appeal. The club raises thousands of pounds every year for charity and their support is greatly valued by the Forces who admire both the skill and fitness of the Spurs players and the commitment and generosity of their fans.
Martin Cricket, Poppy's husband in the book is a fanatical Spurs follower and you don't have to be a sports fan to appreciate the humour that this element introduces to the book.
